Tao Te Ching's First Few Chapters
I started reading Tao Te Ching, and the fisrt interpretation of the first chapter, you can only read this book and undesrtand it well if you are reading it woth an open mind, no goal in your head, no expectations, no name, no desire. If ypu are in search of your inner leader and try to find it in this book, you will find it, because there are many leadership maxims in there, but you will miss the important part of the book, the "Big Picture" As you are in search of leadership, you will not be attent to other things, which might be as well equally important. As well, I heard a speech of someone saying that he might read this book today and look at it in a certain way, but the book will not be the same tommorrow. That is similar to a quote that says "Nobody gets in the same river twice", meaning that the river changes, you can never get in the same water at the same place, because the water already moved, as well as the old meaning you had of the book. When I was explained about the Yin and the Yang, I understood much better the book. It explains most of the passages in the book. The Yin is to do something, while the Yang is not to do, or to not do. You can classify the passages as well as the pages as a whole either Yin or Yang, depending if the passage is telling you to do something, to not do something, or to do nothing at all. This book, before being explained the first page and the Yin-Yang, and what to expect while reading it (nothing at all) was really confusing. The first chapter really cost me trouble. Now I know how to read it and how to interpret it, and this makes it much easier to read, understand and interoret.
