Jesus was born in Bethlehem. His parents were not from there, they moved to have him there. There are three wise men, so called the three king magicians, that come to Jesus with three gifts. One brings gold, the other incense, and the other myrrh. The king, Herod, heard of this child which they called the King of the Jews. Obviously he feels jealous, so he orders every child in Bethlehem to be killed. To be able to let Jesus live, they escape to Egypt. After the King's death, they move back to Bethlehem, and later move to Nazareth. Here he grows as a poor child, eating wild things for he cannot afford much more.
But once he is grown, he starts to preach around Judea. He meets John the Baptist, and John baptizes Jesus. Then the eternal opponent of God, Satan, wishes to test this so called son of God. He takes him to the wilderness for forty days, but Jesus comes out unharmed. Here is when he starts to preach, his ministry begins. He quickly gains three disciples, Simon Peter, Andrew, James and John. He then does a famously known speech as the Sermon of the Mount, and he gains a large crowd with this speech of humility, love for one's neighbor, praying and trusting God.
As Jesus travels around Galilee, he starts doing miracles. He cures the lepers, gives eyesight to the bling, brings people back to life, calms a storm, and many other like these, and by these means he attracts great amounts of people who start to follow him and devout to God. Jesus establishes his twelve disciples, and tells them to go around the country healing the sick, cleansing the lepers, and all without expecting payments in return.
But we need to talk about something else before continuing. Jesus did win many friends and followers, but as well tons of enemies. They are called Pharisees. They disapprove the son of God be messing around with prostitutes, adulterers, and sinners, and hate the fact that he forgives their sins, because they believe that only God himself can forgive sins. They call him a drunkard. They build an opposition against Jesus. Jesus, facing such aggression, does not forgive, but rather admonishes them. He answers by telling his people parables. He tells the parable of the mustard seed, of the sower, and many others. These parables have an underlying message.
Jesus continues to perform miracles around Galilee, but when he gets to Nazareth, the people despise him. He performs even more miracles, but they continue to disbelieve. He feeds thousands with just a few loaves and some fish, but he still feels his apostles lack faith in him. He walks through the water, and they think he is a ghost. He feeds thousands, and they fear hunger, but Simon does believe in him, and calls him the Messiah. He changes Simon's name to Peter, and continues preaching.
Jesus continues to preach. He says no one should divorce, and teaches of forgiveness. Jesus is welcomed in Jerusalem with anxiety by huge amounts of people. He goes to the temple, and finds merchants and money changers, and immediately expels them from temple. He defies chief priests and elders, and chastises jewish leaders for not taking care of the temple correctly, focusing more on legal matters than on religious ones. He sees Jerusalem as a too wicked city, so he warns them of the end of the World. He says though, that the son of God will come to save the righteous.
Later on, Jesus celebrates the Last Supper with his disciples. He predicts one of his apostles will betray him (Judas) and that after his death, another one (Peter) will betray him as well. He then starts the Eucharist (when he eats bread as a symbol of his body, and wine as a symbol of his blood). Then Jesus goes to a garden called Gethsemane to pray, to ask God if suffering can be avoided, but it is necessary to save mankind. It is here where Judas comes with the Roman soldiers, and kisses Jesus as a sign to the soldiers for them to know who was Jesus.
He is sent to the Jewish court, where Caiaphas, the highest priest, accuses him of blasphemy and sends him to Poncious Pilate for a final decision. Pilate convicts him to a death sentence, and the next day he is crucified. Three days later, Mary Magdalene and Mary go to anoint Jesus' tomb, and they find it empty. On their way home, an angel tells them Jesus has been resurrected and that he can be found in Galilee. They go there and find him, and Jesus commands the disciples to preach, convert and baptize nonbelievers around the world. That is the story I say to you, Amen.
