Confucious Confused Me!
I was reading Analects, and while I did, I didn't understad anything. It seemed as if I was reading in Chinese. I barely understood who was the speaker, and who was the listener. There was a master always, he was the speaker, and there were more than one listener, because when the master leaves, there is still a convesation. I did understand a couple pints that the Master had to say. For example, he said that the man who is of Good will always help people and search no profit of it, but the petty man only understands profit, and uses people to get money or wealth. As well, he said something shooking, Confucious said "Is there a person who can, for the space of a single day, simply devote his eforts to goodness?" This is really a sad quote, because it shows that a person has not been able to make it a whole day of being good. Obviously, this has changed, because this was many many hundredths of years ago, and up to now, we can find many people who have done that. These are people who fight for a rightful cause and really put all their efforts to it, for a day, a month, a year, all they do is good. These are people like Mother Teresa of Calcutta, Martin Luther King jr, Alvaro Uribe. In other chapters I read, it is very strange because they start talking about some weird people and how they behave and judge them, in their backs. Some are good, but some... This book seems to be interesting and I hope to understand it more while I read more chapters.
