The Story of Berries And the Greek Myth Theory
I really liked this story, the one of Pyramus and Thisbe, and how they loved each other. They wanted to marry each other, but their parents forbided them. And so they escxape their homes to meet one day, and Thisbe was a little early. She was waiting in the accorded spot, when she saw a lioness, walking to get water. She started running, and her veil was dropped. The lioness got her veil, and stained it with blood. When Pyramus saw the veli with blood, he cried and went to the tree of white berries and killed himselve, thinking it was his fault. Then, when Thisbe went there and saw him dead, she killed herselve. Their blood marked all the white berries, and made them red. The blood not only was caught by the berries, but also by the root of the tree, so the tree was permanently marked. The gods were so sad that they made all the white berry trees, red. I think it is interesting to see how the Greeks make a myth for most things they see, or maybe the berries were something that they really liked, and made a myth for those too. I have a theory about the greek myths, that perhaps can never be answered. I think that the greeks didn't unite one day and write myths about everything. I think that it is improvisation from a king or a great storyteller. They ask him, "where do berries come from?" and he comes out with something like that, and it is written down and kept forever. Probably many people didn't believe these myths, but they didn't say anything.
