Gilgamesh's Ending

I didn't really understand the las tablet of Gilgamesh, the one of the drumstick and the drum. It talks about Gilgamesh having a very precious object and he drop is to the Nether World, and cries "Who will bring back my Drumstick from down there? Who will bring back my drum from the Nether world?" pg 85, and the first person to voluntary is, obviously, Enkidu. This is when I got confused, because Enkidu was supposed to be dead, so he would already be in the Nether world, and would not have to go down there. Then Gilgamesh explains what NOT to do, and that is exactly what Enkidu does. He tells him to not wear clean clothes, to not bathe with fragance oils, to not wear shoes, to not kiss the wife he loved, and many other things, because the dead will know he is a stranger. After all the time Gilgamesh takes to explain, how hard is it to obey, to not do those things...! Enkidu does all the opposite. He uses fragances, he uses shoes, he wears clean clothes, he kisses the wife, and then the queen Ereshkigal seizes him. Gilgamesh asks the father god Enlil to save Enkidu, but he refuses, then he asks the god of the moon to help him, but he is deaf to what Gilgamesh asks, and then he asks the god Ea to help him, and he does, he rescues Enkidu, and then Enkidu tells Gilgamesh about the Nether world, and then he starts weeping, and it's over. That is what got me confused, the very last sentence. I think the one of tablet 11, "Uruk, the city of Gilgamesh" pg 82, is way better than the one in tablet 12, "No dog would eat the food he has to eat" pg 92. That is why it is confusing. I liked more the one of pg 82, it has more characteristics of an end to me.
