Ishmael's Final Chapter

Ishmael's ending I would evaluate as a rather expected one. I realized that Ishmael knew he was going to die in a near future and that when you read the las page, where it says " WITH GORILLA GONE, WILL THERE BE HOPE FOR MAN?" you then confirm it. He knew the world was going to and end, that takers were destroying it, and he also knew that it was his destiny to share these thoughts to someone before his day came. Knowing that he didn't have much time left, he wrote on both sides of the ad, one saying "WITH MAN GONE, WILL THERE BE HOPE FOR GORILLA?" pg 9, and the other one saying "WITH GORILLA GONE, WILL THERE BE HOPE FOR MAN?" pg 263, knowing that bone day, the man would pick up the and and hopefully notice that it had two sides. I think that there are more than one interpretations for the phrase "WITH GORILLA GONE, WILL THERE BE HOPE FOR MAN?". You could perfectly interpret as it is, with gorilla gone, will humans die?, because obviously that is how it is written, and most likely is is the first one that comes to most people's minds when they read it, nut that doesn't make much sence to me, because in most cases, men don't depend on gorillas to live, but there is another way, that is more with the story. As the man had become so close with Ishmael, and had developed such hunger for knowledge and saving the world, the quote can be thought as with Ishmael gone, will there be hope for the men to continue?, which makes a lot of sense, and sounds logical that Quinn had written it for this purpose, because that is what the novel is about, after all. Also, there is one that can be the correct one for many people, that I though about but didn't make a lot of sense, that is when the reader finishes the book, and Ishmael dies and all, will there be hope that he knows how to live? I didn't think it was the best answer, but it could be. The one best interpretation for me was, with teacher gone, will there be hope for student? I though of that one for a long time and discovered it had a lot of sense and that Quinn might also have written it thinking of that. All of those are options that Quinn might have thought about, but I realized that if I, being only the reader, could interpret them all, well he being the writer also could have. I realized that he might have written that quote to leave people thinking of what it means, thinking "all these are valid, but only he knows the correct one". I hope he did do it that way!
