King James's Adventures and Life in England
When Elizabeth died, James went up to the throne of England. He was also King of Scotland, but this was an unwealthy country, that couldn't even have a military force. James beame very rich, he satrted getting famous and having alot of money. Once, he decided to take a trip on his new territory, England. The trip took more than a month. In this trip, he once went to the borders of Engand and Scotland, and right through the border, lay down. This was to show that one man could reign in two different countries. Many people didn't like that. His first error, once they presented before him a man that had stolen something. Without doing the due process in court to prove that he was guilty and penalize him in jail, James ordered this man hanged. This disgusted many, many people. Lots of times he and many other english magnates set up shows that involved charity and lots of money to prove to the english people that England did have lots of money and that he was a good King and those kind of things. He once gave to the poorest people of England the best of the wine there was, with the best of the beef there was. These are all just to show-off all his money. He also did many good things for England, and he, after a while, was gifted a great palace. The palace of Falkland. This was a masterpiece of Renaissance Architecture. It was three stories high, and had five courtyards. He was really amazed and thankful with Cecil, who had gifted this to him. There were golden lions in each tower and one wall had the whole history of England painted. I think that to any person nowadays it is their life-dream to live a life like this, in which you don't have to do anything, you can rest, eat all you want, and go to your courtyards to hunt. I wish I had a castle like that...
