Finally...A different type of Myth!

I have just read the story of Apollo and Daphne the Nymph. I think that this has just changed my world! It is the first myth that I find that the ending is sad, that the gods don't intervene and make things wonderful and help everybody as they always do. This time, Apollo wanted to love the Nymph, and she was horrified just by the thought of love. It is the first story in which the gods never make a superspell on her and make her love him, and the theme is also good. The theme is that Even though she bacame very ugly as a tree and was not human anymore, he still loved her, and told her that he was going to make a battle campaigh with her and that he would decorate her with many beutiful things. This kind of stories are rare between the Greek Myths, because most, there is always a hero that gets help from the gods, does something heroic and lives happily ever after. This is not like that, and that is why it now becomes one of my favorite myths. I think that if I were to read another myth from Apollo, he probably would fall in love with another girl and tell her to marry him because he is king of this places and is the god of these things. I predict that because most Greek Myths are like that, they never show any moral values, until now. I like this myth, and I hope to find at least a couple more in between the other regular Greek Myths.

I never thought of it that way. I
guess this myth is unique in that sense.
